Letter: “Can’t Find My Boyfriend’s Processor’s Address”

Letter: “Can’t Find My Boyfriend’s Processor’s Address”

A common question for many partners of commercial fishermen, I wanted to show how you can reverse engineer your way onto your partner’s boat. Well, to send a care package at least. I love posting emails from other POCFs to show how accessible our community can be. If you have any questions, please email me. And if I don’t know the answers, I’ll do my best to get some for you. Take our friend “Care Package Patty,” for example. Let’s see how we were able to locate her man:

Dear Megan,

I am trying to reach you because I do not know how to find my boyfriend’s processor’s address. I’m happy to have found you because he recently became a fisherman, and I found your blog! If you could help guide me in finding his processor address! I’d be so grateful!

Care Package Patty

Hey, CPP!

So happy you found the blog, and thank you for reaching out!! Welcome to the POCF community! We are happy to have you!

As for his processor’s address, do you know who he fishes for? Or, is that the question?

If you know the processor, I would Google then call the company’s number. If you’re sending a care package, tell them you are trying to get it to your fisherman, and they will help you.

If you’re unsure of the processor, ask your sweetie the next time you chat, then do the steps above.

Side note, what does he fish and where?

Please let me know if I need to clarify anything, and I am happy to do it. 🙂

Thank you so much again for reaching out! I hope this email finds you well!

Hi, Megan.

I am not sure who he fishes for; however, I know the boat’s name. Would that help me find the processor address?

Right now, he’s fishing for Cod in Dutch Harbor, Alaska!

Hey, CPP!

Since he’s in Dutch Harbor, I would start here: unisea.com

Call and ask if they work with your fisherman’s boat. If your fisherman doesn’t fish for them, ask the names of the other processors in Dutch Harbor. Then, call each to ask if they work with your man’s boat. One should stick. If you tell them why you need it, I’m sure they will be happy to help you out!

(Not sure if there’s another way to do it, but this is how I would try to locate Chris.)

Please keep me posted. I hope this helps!

Dear Megan,

Thank you so much. I wouldn’t have any idea where to start if it wasn’t for you!!

I will keep you updated as I go along this journey!
